For Donald Tinsley and Brandon Williams, studying in the respiratory therapy program at Radford University Carilion (RUC) in Roanoke is a family affair. Donald is Brandon’s father, and the duo will both graduate with their Bachelor of Science degrees at the Spring Commencement ceremony on May 3.

This week: Rob Craig ’05 has two cool jobs; basketball Hall of Famer Steve Robinson ’81, M.S. ’85, retires from coaching; and Kenya Motley, M.S. ’17, and Shaun Sparks ’01 are new school principals.

The Mabry brothers have parlayed their extensive multitasking skills – undertaking classes, internships and numerous jobs, often all at once – into a pathway toward a successful future.

This summer, a small group of Radford students and faculty will conduct original research deep in the Peruvian jungle as part of the Radford Amazonian Research Expedition.

Radford chemistry and geology major James Kreck is the recipient of a student award given annually by the American Chemical Society.

Natalie Preston was always interested in healthcare and instinctively knew that’s where her educational journey would take her. But little did she know that it would bring her 14 hours south of her native Vermont to Radford University's Nursing program, and Cross Country/Track teams.

The College of Education and Human Development, in partnership with the Southwest Virginia Teacher Apprenticeship Consortium, celebrated National Apprenticeship Day and the success of its inaugural class of six teacher apprentices, who have secured teaching positions in Western Virginia school divisions next year.

Griffin chose Radford after hearing “amazing things” from friends and mentors about the university’s dedication to providing hands-on experiences for its students.
